Sometimes it's all we can do to just keep going. During those times little things like the support of a friend, or a few minutes of quiet time to listen to soothing music or just breath can be life savers. We need something to remind us that what we are going through is temporary.  On this page you will find links to websites that help with stress management, reminders that life can be seen in a different way, and some icons to use as a reminder of something you want to keep in the foremost of your mind.

 It's really hard to know what to do when we are angry or frustrated.  Sometimes it helps to talk to a friend, sometimes we don't have to do anything at all.  When we don't say or do anything, we don't risk getting backed into a corner. If you feel like things aren't changing and need professional help, do not feel alone and do not feel ashamed. Millions of  people seek professional help.


 THE TRUTH ABOUT SELF ESTEEM

 Self Esteem is just an emotion based on the feelings that you have. How you feel about yourself isn't based on facts, it's decided by  what you believe. Contrary to what most people believe, just because we think something doesn't mean it's true.  We all have beliefs about way we think things "should"  be.  These thoughts are the result of our own experiences and life situations which are unique for everyone.  So, If you think you're not good enough, how can you be sure that this is  true? 

 You could compare yourself to other people, but how do you decide which people to compare yourself to? There will always be someone better at something and there will always be someone worse. Constantly comparing yourself to other people would send you on a never ending roller coaster ride and you still wouldn't have any real proof that your not good enough. 

Since it's unlikely that we're right about everything we think, then it's possible that when we think we aren't good enough, we're wrong!   I guess  we aren't really even qualified to decide we aren't good enough!  We may need to change some of our beliefs before we can change the way we feel about ourselves.  The next time you find yourself thinking negative thoughts about yourself, isn't there always something good to think instead!

PROBLEM SOLVING

Moving Forward

Moving Forward is a free, on-line educational life coaching program that teaches problem solving skills to help you to better handle life’s challenges.  It is an interactive online program that helps people to see alternatives and better ways to deal with problems.
